Most home earwax removal is carried out by one clinician. We’ve deliberately chosen a different approach.
There are two of us at every appointment. While one carries out the procedure, the other can offer reassurance, help with positioning or communication, or simply be an extra pair of hands. Sometimes that just keeps things running smoothly. Sometimes it makes all the difference.
Our care adapts to the person in front of us. Our specific healthcare backgrounds mean we’re experienced in supporting a wide range of people and needs.

We spent years working together in frontline healthcare before setting up The Earwax Ladies. We wanted to create the kind of service we'd want for our own families - professional with the clinical experience, but also friendly, patient and never rushed.

How much is a home visit?
Home visit fees vary by location to reflect travel time.
We cover a pretty wide area - travelling across North London and the surrounding counties, and sometimes up to 90 minutes from Potters Bar.

Meeting us will go something like this

We chat
We talk about what's going on and answer any questions.

We examine your ears using a video endoscope.

We Treat
If appropriate, we remove the wax using the method, or methods, best suited to you.

We Explain & Signpost
We show you what we've found, provide written aftercare advice and signpost you for further assessment where needed.

We’re experienced in supporting older people, including those who may need a little more time, reassurance or practical help.
Dementia, communication & Sensory needs
We take a calm, adaptable approach for people who may find communication, unfamiliar situations or treatment difficult.
Reduced mobility or anxiety
We’re used to adapting; treating people in their own bed or chair where needed. Home visits can make ear care easier for those who find travelling, waiting rooms or appointments challenging, and mean we can work wherever you feel most comfortable.

More than 20 years of combined NHS experience, including frontline and primary care prior to starting The Earwax Ladies.
That experience underpins the calm, careful and adaptable way we work today.

Qualified
Specialist training in otoscopy, microsuction, endoscopic microsuction, irrigation, manual instrumentation and ear examination, including NHS and BSA approved training.
We continue to maintain our skills through ongoing training and professional development.
